Che cos’è una risposta breve?
Mettiamo che ci venga posta una domanda che implica semplicemente un sì o un no come risposta (es. Hai un cane? Sì): questa viene definita risposta breve. In inglese, nelle risposte brevi è buona norma non rispondere semplicemente con sì o no, ma aggiungere anche soggetto e verbo to have (es. Hai un cane? Sì, ce l’ho). Vediamo come.

Un po’ confuso? Generalmente non ci rendiamo conto che, in inglese, abbiamo due modi di utilizzare il verbo to have. La strategia migliore, se sei all’inizio dello studio, è di imparare prima la coniugazione di to have, usata sia in americano che in inglese. In un secondo momento passa alla coniugazione have got che, alla fine, userai unicamente nelle conversazioni in inglese britannico.
