Quando si usa “I’m sorry” in inglese?
In inglese per “chiedere scusa” utilizziamo generalmente la parola sorry:

– used to tell someone that you wish you had not done something that has affected them badly, hurt them etc.

♦ dire che non sei d’accordo con qualcuno (allo stesso modo si usa anche I’m sorry):

♦ scusarti quando hai fatto qualcosa di sbagliato o imbarazzante:

♦ chiedere di ripetere, soprattutto in American English (allo stesso modo si usa anche I’m sorry e pardon?):
“What time is it?” – “Excuse me? / Sorry? / Pardon?” – “I asked you what time it is.”
“Che ore sono?” – “Scusa?” – “Ho chiesto che ore sono”.
